Clay Open Studio

We offer open studio to those with previous ceramic experience and is recommended for those who don’t need hands-on instruction and feel confident working independently.

Open studio is available on a month to month basis. Monthly open studio begins on the first day of the month and ends on the last day of the month.  Payments will not be prorated.
Registration is required.  Cost $35.00/month
Daily rate is $15.00.  Preregistration is not required but payment is due when you come.

Open studio participants must be 18 or older.

Sip ‘n Spin with Emily Freelin
Friday, December 8,15,22 or 29 6-9pm
Spend a fun night with friends or a date. Spin a pot on the pottery wheel.
  Decorate it to make a one of a kind useful art piece to call your own.  No experience necessary. Bring a snack and beverage to share.  For ages 21+

Tuesdays & Thursdays, January 9-30  8:30-10:00

Drop the kids off at school and invigorate your morning in the clay room! Enjoy coffee and bagels while learning a new skill. Nicole fosters a flexible and refreshing atmosphere as she guides her students through simple, quality clay projects. An $80 purchase is good for a 4-session passport. $20 Student Night with Laurel

Show up to the clay room with $20 and your college ID! Laurel will guide you as you spend a night creating functional pots and vessels! Using stamps, texture pads, and carving tools you will be able to customize your own handmade pottery. No experience needed, it will be a night full of laughs and creativity! Bring a friend, the more the merrier!

Sculpture 101 with Ashan Pridgeon

Mondays, January 8-February 12  6-8pm

Hand building with clay really lets your creativity shine. Join us as Ashan teaches how to build vessels with classic hand building techniques. Explore pinch pots, coil building, and clay slabs as you create vessels or sculptures for your home. Ashan will guide you in bringing your ideas to life. All materials included. All levels are welcome, come get your hands dirty!

Serving Dishes 101 with Lauren Ginn

Tuesdays, January 9-30 4:30-6:30pm

Calling all entertainers and hosts! Join Lauren as she guides you in creating custom serving dishes. We will learn on the the potter’s wheel and the table as we learn different forms. Salad and bread servers; chip and dip bowl! You can expect 3-4 quality pieces from this 4-week class! All are welcome, although you will benefit from prior wheelthrowing practice!

Come join Emily as she takes you through 15 shapes on the potter’s wheel! The class will consist of demonstrations and guided practice time. Jars, casserole dishes, platters, teapots, and more! This class is great for any-level potter looking for fresh inspiration. Basic knowledge of the potter’s wheel required.

Horsehair Firing with Christina Dixon
Saturday, March 17  1-4pm
Come experience a horsehair firing with Christina Dixon! Bring your own bisqued pots to the studio- we will glaze and learn the secrets behind horsehair firing. We will do a couple of group firings- participation in the firing is encouraged! It will be a fun Saturday that will leave us all smelling like a campfire!
