METALS/JEWELRY STUDIO

This studio is equipped with everything you need to make beautiful jewelry. We have all the tools to create sterling silver or copper bracelets, earrings and pendants by soldering, sawing, piercing and folding. We have currently expanded our class offerings to include enameling.

 

Pre-registration is required three days before the start of class or workshop.
You are not registered unless paid in full.

 Material fees are included in the tuition pricing.

Turn an Old Coin into a Pendant! with Beth Gautsch
September 11 & 13, Tuesday & Thursday, 6-9pm
Spend two fun evenings learning how to turn an old coin you treasure into a piece of jewelry without damaging or drilling a hole in the coin. No experience required. Good eyesight or magnification is necessary for this class. Please wear closed-toe shoes.

Enameling for Beginners with Trish Stalb
September 18 & 20, Tuesday and Thursday, 6-9 pm
Spend two fun-filled evenings learning the basics of enameling powdered glass onto copper in an enameling kiln. You'll play with beautiful, permanent colors to make several pieces to wear No experience required! Good eyesight or magnification is necessary for this class. Please wear closed-toe shoes.

Prong Setting Workshop with Beth Gautsch
October 16, 18, 23 & 25, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6-9pm
Learn the basics of prong setting to be able to turn pebbles and other components into beautiful pendants, necklaces, bracelets or earring’s. Prong setting fabrication methods allow you to showcase that special pebble, enamel piece or stone that’s not perfectly smooth without drilling a hole in the element. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn basic silversmithing techniques or expand your skill set. Good eyesight or magnification is necessary for this class. Please wear closed-toe shoes.

Torch Enameling Workshop with Trish Stalb
October 27, Saturday, 10 am-2pm
Learn how to fuse powdered enamel glass onto copper using the open flame of an acetylene torch. You'll take home with several vibrantly colored pieces, and lots of new knowledge about this wonderful art form. No experience required! Good eyesight or magnification is necessary for this class. Please bring a bag lunch and wear closed-toe shoes to this class.

Flex Shaft Texturing and Polishing Workshop with Trish Stalb
November 10, Saturday, 10 am-2pm
This class will focus on learning how to use a Flex-Shaft hand-held polishing and texturing machine to produce professional quality textures and matte and mirror finishes on sterling silver jewelry pieces. Mastery of the Flex-Shaft is a must for anyone who is serious about making quality jewelry. All levels welcomed, but some metalsmithing experience is helpful. Good eyesight or magnification is necessary for this class. Please bring a bag lunch and wear closed-toe shoes to. Silver will be provided.

Upcycling Jewelry Workshop with Beth Gautsch
November 6, 8, 13 & 15, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9pm
Stretch your jewelry making creative design skills to make something old new again. In this four session class students will bring old jewelry or other pieces to refashion them into a completely new piece of jewelry. Some metalsmithing and soldering experience is helpful. Good eyesight or magnification is necessary for this class. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
