
GROUP EXHIBITION – SKATE CULTURE TERMS & CONDITIONS
Artists/Makers must reside in the State of South Carolina
Applicants must be over the age of 18 years on the date entries open.
Each artist/maker can submit up to three (3) works
All mediums will be considered. 3D works are welcomed. There are limitations on video/installation works (please contact us prior to submitting).
Only selected artworks will be exhibited.
Deadline to apply: August 1th
Artwork requirements:
Dimensions for 2D work must be within 16 x20 including framing. Larger works will not be considered.
There are no size specifications for 3D work.
Work submitted must not infringe the copyright, moral rights or other rights of any third party.
All artwork must be for sale.

The email MUST include the following:
Artwork details including title, year, medium, dimensions.
Images of the finished artwork entered as a JPEG file (must NOT exceed 2MB).
All artwork image files MUST be labelled, as follows, in order to be considered: ArtistLastname_FirstInitial_ArtworkTitle.jpg (eg. Phillips_J_Roses.jpg).
Selection of artworks for exhibition
The selection decision of The City of Clemson Arts Center will be final, and not subject to discussion, or appeal. No correspondence will be entered into.
Selection criteria to be used by The City of Clemson Arts Center:
Artist/maker’s skill, innovation and craftsmanship and
The dimensions of the work are within the size constraints
Only selected artists/makers will be notified by e-mail by August 11th.
Delivery of selected works for exhibition
If your work is selected, the actual selected artwork must be delivered (replacements will not be accepted under any circumstances) to The City of Clemson Arts Center, 212 Butler Street, Clemson, SC 29631, between August 14th and August 25th, in a state ready for display. This includes all hanging attachments including hanging wire and fixtures – fishing wire is not acceptable.
Artworks delivered without appropriate hanging attachments including wire will not be exhibited.
Artworks delivered late will not be exhibited.
All works must be complete and dry at the time of delivery
The City of Clemson Arts Center will not make any payment for mail, freight or any other charge incurred in the delivery of any selected artworks.
Selected artworks may be personally delivered beginning on Monday, August 14th during regular business hours.
If the artist/maker will be unable to collect unsold artwork personally from The City of Clemson Arts Center the artist/ maker must provide, with delivery of the artwork appropriate return packaging; and labels
All reasonable care is taken with all artworks submitted. If any artwork is damaged or stolen, during the exhibition, The City of Clemson Arts Center will insure all artwork at the sale price. Artists/makers are advised to insure work when in transit, to and from The City of Clemson Arts Center.
Sale of artwork
All prices, provided by the artist/maker, must be the total selling price including commission. Prices cannot be amended after application has been received.
A 40% commission will apply on all sales related to the exhibition. All proceeds go to Skate Upstate for the building of a skate park in Clemson Park, Clemson, SC.
Payment for works sold during the exhibition will be made to the artist/maker within 14 days of the end of the exhibition.
Collection of unsold artworks
Unsold artworks must be collected from The City of Clemson Arts Center by November 17th,2023
The City of Clemson Arts Center will only return artworks where the artist has provided the return postage and packaging.
The City of Clemson Arts Center will not make any payment for mail, freight or any other charge incurred in the collection of unsold works.
Works not collected by November 17th will become the property of The City of Clemson Arts Center.
General
All freight charges to and from The City of Clemson Arts Center are the responsibility of the artist/maker.
Exhibitors agree for their artworks to remain on show for the exhibition duration, early collection by the artist/ maker will not be permitted under any circumstances.
The City of Clemson Arts Center reserves the right to decline to exhibit any work deemed to be inappropriate, unsafe, or if works are wet when received. The City of Clemson Arts Center’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Works that are not ready to hang will not be accepted and payment of any fees received will not be refunded.
The City of Clemson Arts Center reserves the right to use images of artwork submitted and photographs of selected artwork for promoting this exhibition, for inclusion in the online catalogue and for archival purposes (either printed and/or online).
